The Piemonte Integrated Ticket (BIP) is the regional smart ticketing system that allows the use of a single contactless card to access various public transport services in Piedmont. In this project, RuneLab collaborated with 5T, a company that integrates operators, technologies, and infrastructures into a single digital platform, making mobility simpler and more connected at a regional scale.

BIP – Biglietto Integrato Piemonte
Approach and methodology
BIP is a digital platform that unifies public transport services on a regional scale. Based on AWS, the solution ensures scalability, security, and reliability in managing data and travel flows. The system supports interoperability among operators, integrating with Public Administrations and payment systems, and allows real-time management of ticket validation, travel data collection, and mobility flow monitoring. Thanks to these features, BIP optimizes access to transport and contributes to a more integrated, efficient, and user-oriented regional mobility.
The approach adopted for the development of BIP is based on an integrated system on AWS, ensuring scalability and security. The methodology includes interoperability among operators, integration with Public Administrations, and payment systems. Advanced technologies manage ticket validation, data, and travel flows, optimizing regional mobility.
