A cloud infrastructure designed for continuity and control

Tier IV-certified data centers, IaaS cloud services, and integrated hosting and backup solutions, all within a single infrastructure designed to ensure high availability, business continuity, data security, and full control over corporate IT resources.

Collocation in a Tier IV Data Center

Abacus’s data centers in Milan and Rome are Tier IV certified—the highest level in the Uptime Institute classification: full redundancy for power, cooling, and connectivity, with a nominal availability of 99.995%. Each colocation solution can be connected via dark or live fiber to the major Italian IXPs and can be natively integrated with the Abacus connectivity platform, including for dedicated hosting needs.

Space in a shared area. Optimal size based on the number of devices and power density. A flexible solution for organizations with a limited number of servers.

Ideal for: Organizations in the early stages or in the process of migrating from on-premises systems, and tech startups.

A fenced-off area physically separated from the common area. Every stage of the design process is overseen by the in-house Abacus team.

Ideal for: Regulated environments (finance, healthcare), security policies that require controlled and tracked physical access.

A compartmentalized area with an independent cooling system and dedicated access control. For high-power-density loads that require precise thermal isolation.

Ideal for: HPC infrastructures, high-density environments, and compliance with certifiable access requirements.

A fully dedicated environment: space, layout, cooling, access, and connectivity—all custom-designed. The benefits of a proprietary data center without the costs of building one yourself.

Ideal for: Large enterprises, telecommunications providers, and organizations with strict regulatory requirements for physical isolation.

IaaS: Physical Performance, Cloud Flexibility

Cloud infrastructure on Linux KVM or VMware hypervisors with CloudStack orchestration. The same enterprise-grade technology, without the costs and complexity of managing hardware. The pay-per-use model allows you to scale resources at any time—without advance provisioning and without fixed investments. A flexible solution also for hosting business applications and services.

KVM or VMware, CloudStack orchestration, networking with a configurable virtual firewall, and volumes with schedulable snapshots.
Public IP and Internet traffic included in all solutions. Customers can upload their own ISO files for custom operating systems.

Simplified management console for creating, starting, stopping, and deleting VMs. Custom templates based on existing VMs, volume snapshots with configurable retention policies.
24/7 proactive monitoring included: anomalies detected before they impact operations.

Cloud Backup: Continuous Protection with Contractually Agreed RPO/RTO

Automated backups with configurable schedules, data hosted in secure data centers on European servers, and access via personalized credentials. Each backup architecture is designed based on the customer’s specific data assets, not on a standard template.

Incremental backups (only changes since the previous backup), schedulable point-in-time snapshots, and synchronous or asynchronous replication to geographically separate infrastructure.

End-to-end data encryption (during transfer and storage), GDPR-compliant on European servers, unlimited scalability, and continuous integrity monitoring with proactive alerts.

The recovery test is an integral part of the service. RPO (Recovery Point Objective) and RTO (Recovery Time Objective) are negotiated and defined in the contract—they are not declared unilaterally.

HOW IT WORKS

How We Manage Your Infrastructure

  1. Assessment and Design Requirements analysis: traffic profile, critical workloads, security policies, regulatory constraints, and business objectives. In-house solution architects define a customized architecture—collocation, cloud, backup—based in part on specific hosting needs.
  2. Implementation and Testing: An in-house technical team supports every phase. For Cloud Backup: Data recovery testing is included in the acceptance testing before go-live—not after.
  3. 24/7 Proactive Monitoring
Real-time monitoring of cloud resource availability, backup integrity, and connectivity to the data center. Automatic escalation to incident response procedures before the customer reports an issue.
  4. Dedicated Support
A dedicated technical contact with direct knowledge of the implemented architecture. No general-purpose call center.
DIFFERENTIATORS
