Attila is a Hungarian banking executive and economist with more than 30 years of experience in investment banking. He held senior roles at Budapest Bank (1990–1999), UniCredit Group (1999–2011), and Raiffeisen Bank International (2012–2020). He served as Chairman of the Budapest Stock Exchange (2004–2008) and was a Board Member of the Federation of European Securities Exchanges. He is currently CEO of Szalay-Berzeviczy Financial Institutions Consulting Ltd and a Board Member of Abacus Group. In 2008, he was awarded the Order of Merit of the Republic of Hungary, Knight’s Cross. As a photographer and military historian, Attila authored the two-volume work In the Centennial Footsteps of the Great War – from Sarajevo to Versailles (2024).
A former pentathlete and great-grandson of Dr. Albert Berzeviczy (founding president of the Hungarian Olympic Committee), Attila actively supports the project of bringing the Olympic Games to Budapest. In 2005, he founded the Budapest Olympic Movement (BOM), serving as its president since its establishment. He was Vice President of the Hungarian Fencing Federation (2005–2012) and ambassador for Budapest’s bid to host the 2024 Olympic Games (2015–2017). In 2021, he was appointed Chairman of the Budapest Olympic Games Commission.
